After many attempts to host the event in the Convention Centre Dublin over the pandemic years, CLRG have finally secured the extensive capital city venue for the 52nd Irish Dancing World Championships, taking place in April this year. We’ve gathered all the vital information you’ll need to know for your smoothest itinerary yet.
When is the 2025 CLRG World Championships?
April 13th-20th, 2025.
Where is it taking place?
The Convention Centre Dublin. Spanning six floors, the CCD could well be in the running to be the largest World Championships venue to date. With a 1,950-seat auditorium and two large exhibition halls with a theatre capacity of more than 2,000 seats each, we can likely expect at least three or four stages for the competitions.

- 4th February: Late entries close (with a financial penalty)
- 27th February 2025: All Ireland qualifiers entry date
- 25th February 2025: Figure/Drama Stories/Music due
- 4th March 2025: Late Music date (with a financial penalty)
How much does entry cost?
- Solo Dancing Championships: €150
- Team Dancing Championships (per dancer/per team) €30
- Freestyle Championship: €50
- Family Maximum Entry Fee: €370
- Late Fee – double the Entry Fee to a maximum of €370
What about the competition details?
Arguably the most important part, dancers will be pleased to know that CLRG has stated all light shoe rounds will be danced two at a time, and all heavy rounds three at a time. CLRG also stated that: “Dancers must commence [the] rounds by standing on the markers provided on the stage. When performing two at a time, dancers must stand on the outer markers, and not in the gaps between.” Set dances do not have a specified mark to start on.
The Michael Flatley Freestyle Competition, now being referred to as Craobh Saorstíle, will be back this year. We can’t wait to see all the creations dancers bring to the stage.
How can I enter?
Registration will be run by Feis Entry this year.
How much is it to watch?
Daily entry wristbands can be pre-ordered here or purchased by card on the day (though no link to purchase has been made available yet). Registered dancers can avail of free wristbands for each day of the event.
Who are the adjudicators and musicians?
The official list of adjudicators and musicians can be found here. Among the musicians this year are dancer favourites, Liam O’Sullivan and Sean O’Brien. No doubt there’ll be some popping tunes to be heard.
Which hotel should I book?
A number of rooms in nearby hotels have been reserved for the event. However, booking within the hotel block is not required for wristband entry. Find the reserved hotel booking site here.
